The following announcement has been sent to the devel, xfree86 and
forum mailing lists last Friday.
David Dawes has suggested to send it to this list, also.
Currently the WiKi contains no information about i18n or fonts.

Please feel free to add anything that is related to XFree86 there.

Regards,
        Egbert.

======================================================================

Cynthia Grossen has helped me to get a Wiki for XFree86-related
topics started. You can find it under:

         http://xfree86.linuxwiki.org

In fact this Wiki has been around for over a year now, but
it has never been announced publically. Since it has been
moved to the linuxwiki.org domain I would like to take the
opportunity to make it known.

I would like to thank my friend Thomas Waldmann of linuxwiki.org
for hosting it, operating the Wiki engine and setting up the
framework.

Currently this Wiki contains :
 . a developers section,
. a user help section with FAQ and
. a knowledge base which contains information
and links to some driver related information.

Cynthia and I have added several of the most frequently asked
issues on the [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list to the user FAQ
section.

I would like to consider this to be a community project to help
reduce the support load on the support mailing list and provide
useful information around XFree86 in one place.

If you would like to help making this project a success please feel
free to add more or correct exisiting information. Before you do
so please make sure you've registered yourself so that the changes
can be attributed to you in the changelog.

Despite the domain name 'linuxwiki.org' *everybody*
is of course welcome to this Wiki!

Please note that this is *not* an official XFree86 web site.

        Egbert.
