Every baby will have sleep problems at some point. For parents, this is frustrating in that they realize their baby is not getting the right amount or quality sleep needed. This means that when the baby awakens in the morning, he or she is irritated and cranky. Sound therapy is a great solution that works for all types of sleep problems and for babies of all ages. The following are some of the common scenarios that parents face, each benefiting from some form of sleep therapy. Newborn Transition - After being in the womb for nine months, the baby comes out from a warm, comfortable, and secure place into a room of noise, bright lights, cool temperature, and other unfamiliar sights and sounds. Once the baby arrives to his new home, he or she may find it difficult to transition. To the newborn, the world is an unwelcoming place. However, in addition to providing the baby with reassurance, love, and bonding time, sound therapy will also help him or her relax. Choosing a machine that has womb and heartbeat sounds can save mom and dad many sleepless nights. Infant Fighting Sleep - Sometimes, infants will fight sleep because they want to stay awake in fear they will miss something. In this case, parents need to first identify the signs of a sleepy baby and then get him or her ready for bed. However, to block out noises that might be keeping the child awake while also promoting sleep, using sleep therapy helps. For this, a sound conditioner coupled with white noise capabilities works incredibly well. That way, the sound therapy creates a peaceful environment that helps the child fall asleep but also alleviate any voices that might be keeping him or her from going to sleep. Security Blanket - Many children reach an age where they want a security blanket, which might be an actual blanket or some type of stuffed animal. In this situation, parents can accomplish two things at once by using sound therapy in the form of a stuffed animal. Choosing a sound conditioner designed as a bear, giraffe, sheep, or some other animal produces special sounds that lull the child to sleep while giving him or her something new for cuddling. Many of these sound conditioners come with timers that keep the sound therapy machine on long enough to encourage peace and sleep.
