You've probably heard of the Ray Ban company, but you might not know just how
much goes into their past. Inspired by Lieutenant John MacCready's comment of
damage to his eyes in 1920, a brand to protect sight was born into several
different lines, many more of which came about since. Probably the most famous
item is the Ray Ban Wayfarer.

These sunglasses first came about in 1952. They were something different, being
made of plastic and not metal with a change nothing like what most sunglasses
had, and thus they quickly became very popular. Everybody was seen wearing
them, even Audrey Hepburn, in one of her most famous movies, 1961's Breakfast
at Tiffany's.

Of course, the style faded as all do, and for a while the product seemed doomed
to be forgotten. However, these days many fads from the past are coming back,
and these sunglasses are just one example. Producers noticed their numbers
shooting up and started making more than ever. Between the 70s and today,
they're probably the most popular sunglasses ever.

This isn't to say they were just some crazy trend, though. The Wayfarer
actually offers a lot to the people that get a pair. The one thing most people
appreciate is the polarized lenses. No matter whether you're fishing and don't
want to get glare from the water, or driving and want to see the road clearly,
they're a great option.

If you decide you want to get in on things, there are several options when it
comes to shopping. The internet is the easiest, but when it comes to something
like this, where you'll probably want to try them on beforehand, it might be
best to go to a specialty store. Besides, you won't have to worry about any
untrustworthy sellers.

Actually, take that last point with a grain of salt - some people in real
stores might not try to scam you out of your money, but they might try to scam
you out of the authentic product. You'd be amazed by how easy it is to miss a
fake. Fortunately, there are plenty of places you can look to identify all
those little telltale signs.

Ray Ban Wayfarer sunglasses look great, but there's more to it than that.
They're also going to shield your eyes from sunlight that can damage them. Just
make sure you care for them, clean them, and keep the lenses from getting
scratched. That way, you can turn your investment into one that will benefit
you in several ways for a long time.
