What is that famous saying? Everyone gets their 15 minutes of fame? There is some truth to that, or at least close to it. Most professionals, volunteers, teachers or just basic employees have their "big day," or week, when they get recognized for an achievement or receive a promotion. Compensation is always appreciated and, without a doubt, a large motivator. However, a pat on the back or a "good job" can be just as important to keep people feeling like they are a large contributor to the success of an organization. To have a party, luncheon or company dinner is a great way to go above and beyond to boost the morale of employees and build teamwork amongst them. So, what kind of party do you throw? Do you buy balloons and pizza? Do you have a BBQ or a fun outing at a restaurant or bar? Sure, the more fun, the better! There are always a number of decisions to make when planning an event. However, if you work with an established firm that has helped with similar events in the past it can take away a big part of the headache. This will free you up to focus on the people at the event instead of the details, like whether you have enough napkins. Your party should be fun for everyone attending, including the hosts. Now that the topic of fun has been thrown out there, what is more fun than ice cream? With tons of flavors of ice cream, yogurt, sorbets, wet toppings and dry toppings, there is something to suit everyone's tastes and make the celebration even more festive. Did you know that you have options for hosting the party as well? Parties can be catered or do-it-yourself style. For smaller team celebrations, there are such things known as party kits. They have about enough ice cream, toppings, spoons, napkins and bowls for 5 people. The average cost for any one of these options is about $4-$6 per person. There are a lot of recognition days and events throughout the year such as National Volunteer Week, Teacher Appreciation Week, Nurses Week, EMS Week, Safety Month and Secretary's Day. Many companies have their own employee appreciation events. An ice cream party would be a fun and innovative way to thank the people who work for you for their hard work and dedication to your organization. Stephen Kelly is crazy about Ice Cream and has organized a number of corporate ice cream parties.
