Remember Bugs Bunny falling through the air with a parachute? He's upside down
when he pulls the ripcord and the chute tangles around him and fails to catch
the wind. Some people seem to feel that way when standing on the precipice of
entrepreneurship. But how can anyone stand on the edge and worry about failing?
Sure, there's the whole job security issue. There are those creepy statistics
about 90% of businesses failing in the first year or whatever they are. But,
think about the benefits!

You Can Entrepreneur AND Keep Your Day Job
How great is that? It's not so much about a jump into oblivion with a faulty
parachute. So your second job fails? Then take a few pointers about what you
did wrong and fall back on your first job. This isn't rocket science.

Starting Up An Online Business Is Really Cheap
Go buy a pre-made template. You can have your whole site made for you. That can
include icons, layouts, and so on. Then just plug in your own copy. Heck, you
can even have someone write the copy for you.

Bugs Bunny Never Had A Care in the World
That seems to be the point of starting your own business. You have too many
cares. There's your boss, your mortgage, the kids college tuition. It's too
much. I propose that you can work your way out of worrying over these things
(including your boss). As an example, let's consider the worries I have right
now. I'm sitting in a high-end cafe in the current foreign country of my
choosing, writing this piece. (A country I'm thinking of taking over by the
way, cuz hey, the food is good, the coffee strong, and the women are
beautiful.) I'm annoyed that I forgot my headphones because now I'm stuck
listening to an XM station that I've heard waaaaaay too much of. I'd rather be
watching Bugs Bunny. And I just ran out of coffee. Oh, and I was having issues
thinking of some one-liners to make this a more interesting read. What I
wouldn't give for Alan Alda to be beside me. Do you want these problems to
replace yours? Then jump!

Start up your own part-time website. It doesn't take much principal to start
off with at all. And consider the freedom when you've got a couple sites
running at once. Your new problems can be writing a new blog piece, making sure
you keep your Facebook current, and occasional tweets. YOU have the power to
take over the world while sitting in your favorite coffee shop. How's THAT for
megalomania?

Cue Marvin the Martian: "Isn't that lovely?"
