------------------ ARTICLE START ------------------

The sheer popularity of this article topic is irrefutable evidence that many
people share a dream of writing a breathtaking novel that will not only be
published, but read by thousands, if not millions of people whose emotions and
imaginations will be captivated by the words that you write.

Because you have decided to pursue this rather than just dreaming about it, as
most others do, you are much closer to success than you think. There is one
idea I'd like to share with you that can drastically improve your chances of
transforming your creative thoughts into an actual novel that you will hold in
your hands, and see prominently displayed on bookshelves across the country.

Some have dreams of writing a bestselling novel, only to find those dreams
chased away by the stress and anxiety of the white page. Similar to the white
coat effect in a doctor's office, a blank, white page in front of a budding
novelist can cause a wide range of unhelpful emotions.

Panic. Worry. Inadequacy.

Some try and squeeze out a sentence or two, and then suddenly find themselves
surrounded by voices of doubt and imaginary criticism.

There are two ways that can destroy once and for all these evil imaginary
villains that can sap your creative resources and inspiration. One is to write
every day, regardless of what you write. Write nonsense for five hundred words.

Ignore punctuation, spelling, grammar, or even if the words your throw together
even exist in the English language. Once you do this, you will lose that
feeling of "all or nothing" that even many seasoned writers feel when they face
a blank page.

Soon it will become another day, another few hundred words. No big deal. Then
you can periodically go back and sort through what you've written, clean it up,
get rid of the junk and put together the good stuff. One of the unexpected
things you'll discover is that after only a few days of doing this, when you go
back and look through it, you will find some really good stuff.

And when you put together the really good stuff of several days of writing,
you're on a great start to that bestselling novel you've got inside you.

The second trick is to get in the habit of publishing what you write, at least
a couple of times a week. Either on a free blog, or a blog on your own website,
or even on this website will work.

Putting your name on something that you publish on a regular basis will do
wonders for your self-confidence and self esteem. You will be sending a
powerful message to yourself: Not only are your thoughts important, but you
respect and believe in yourself enough to write them out and publish them for
all the world to see.

Many people have dreams of being published, but actually taking action is more
than many can accomplish. Because you are reading this, you are well on your
way to doing just this. And the more you do this, the more you will realize
that your ideas are important enough to write, to get published, and yes, to
sell to thousands, if not millions of others.
