At some point in a persons life they will become sunburned this is both painful
and dangerous. Sunburn hurts because it severely burns the outer layer of skin
and it is dangerous because it can cause skin cancers to develop.

Most people who stay outside too long do not notice the burn until after they
return indoors. The skin does not feel hot or uncomfortable because the person
is usually sweating while outdoors. The person begins to cool down then the
skin become hot and irritated.

Your face, neck, and arms will feel hot to the touch and may even be painful to
touch the burned areas. A few things that you can do to help ease the sunburn
once you come indoors are as follows. You can use a face cream or cold cream
like Noxzema. Put this on the burned area and let it sit on the skin for a few
moments this will draw out the heat then rinse it off with cold or cool water.

You can use, after sun lotion or cream, preferably some kind of after sun
lotion with Aloe Vera as one of the ingredients. This will also draw out the
heat. This will also help the skin to begin to repair itself.

If you do not have either of these kinds of things to help you get some relief
then you can take a wet towel and soak it is cool water. Lay the towel over the
burned area and let it sit there until the towel begins to heat up then re wet
the towel again. This will also draw out the heat of the sunburn and help you
to feel better.

If you are severely, burned as in a second or third degree, sunburn then you
will need to go to your doctor and ask him what you can do. This will be only
in a bad case of sever sunburn and it will need medical attention.

You will want to prevent this from happening again when you go outdoors. A good
sunscreen with 30 % or 50 % Sun Protection Factor or SPF will be sufficient for
keeping you from burning your skin.

You should apply the sunscreen before you go out into the sun and then after
being out in the sun for an hour or so. Most sunscreen is waterproof and sweat,
proof but it is best to reapply to be on the safe side.
