------------------ ARTICLE START ------------------

Willingness is the first step for good behavior change. Okay, so how is
willingness produced, so to speak? Well, it is from knowledge. It comes from
the awareness that there has to be changed. You will not repair your house if
you think it does not need repairing. So it is the same way with our problems.
For example, if you are a gifted child but then you are also an underachiever
in school, then maybe you may think that simply passing your subjects is okay.
However, once you become aware that you are wasting your gift, talent and skill
for that matter, it is out of that awareness that your willingness to change
comes. So be aware.

Are you able? Can you feel and believe that you are able to change? This seems
ironic-that the more you can see how problematic the problem is, then the more
you may think you are unable to confront it. And indeed, it would seem the more
changes to be made, or if the changes are so challenging, you may think there
is no good in being willing for change, if one is after all simply unable to do
the change or be the change for that matter. But first, see what you have-that
is your mind, your body and your skills. If you seem to think, you have
nothing, seek a friend, a counselor or at least anyone you may think even just
might be able to help you.
And of course-are you ready? When you see that you are able to change-are you
complete dedicated to see that change? It is normal to second guess yourself,
and to have doubts. But you must not let these stop you. Convince yourself that
your present state is not the ideal life you are meant to live. Imagine what it
would be like to be stuck in your mediocre life cycle forever. Then, proceed to
imagining what it would be like to change right now. Once you've become more
dedicated, make things ready.

Settle on your plan for self-improvement. Buy things you need to buy as needed.
If necessary, know the people to consult and to consider. Do not think of doing
this merely for yourself. You need to find your purpose. In doing that, you can
make more sense with what you are doing-changing for the better for a better
life.
