------------------ ARTICLE START ------------------

Now, the modern world is rough. It is filled with stress, burn out and a sudden
surge of pressure from so many things. Technology has helped us be fast paced.
Sadly, it also pressured us to deliver results in faster ways than we can
really handle. So should we just give up? No.

Every once in a while, we need a time, a time for renewal; first, we need to
acknowledge our state of unrest. Acknowledgement is the key to change. You
cannot change yourself unless you do not know "you". What do we need to know
about us?

We are fragmented. Fragmented means broken. Sadly, because of pressures of
daily life-family, personal life, our job and our ambitions, we have been led
to a cycle of working too much. Yes, this is not only true for workaholics.
Sometimes, when we pressure ourselves, we did not even realize we have already
divided ourselves too much without really knowing why or being willing to do so.

We are also saturated. We are fed with all these pressures, work and more
pressure. Sometimes, even fun can be saturating. If we are keeping up with a
schedule, then there is a tendency to view fun time even as a job or "something
we have to do". Of course, we need to have fun but there should be no strain or
pressure.

We are also disconnected. Do we know our purpose? Do we know why we do what we
do? Maybe, we just got used to doing the way things have always been done.
Maybe, we are just too lazy to deal with our philosophy and be caught up with
drama.

But we all need a sense of purpose. That is why a time for renewal is very
important. The following three steps are very easy to follow. First, we need to
acknowledge the gifts given us. What are your natural gifts? What are your
talents? What are the skills you have learned? Second, we need to determine our
purpose. What gives meaning to your life? What do you live for the most? Then
third and most importantly, we need to add gifts and purpose to produce actions
which make the results.

It is easy to follow but may not be easy to actually do. That is what makes
retreats and renewals vital and very inspiring. For a better renewal time,
choose a quiet and relaxing place, such as the beach or the mountain. Bring
people who support you and are of the same mind as you are. Have peace and
enjoy.
