Very slow day for birds at the marsh. The birds were not taking advantage of the water at all, any birds seen were on the land or in the air. It is interesting the changes that continue with the habitat, there are hardly any deciduous tress left in the marsh and only a few around the edges. Looks like the conifers on the west ridge are drying up as well. Water level is low on the state side and high on the gun club side. The south end of the marsh ( South of 220th) looks like it could hold more water so I think the gun club is holding water. The boat ramp area has mostly Oak trees since the clearing began there, the clearing only goes a short distance into the woods at this time. The Oaks have new branches started all up and down the trunk where the brush and trees have been removed. Does anyone know what the state plans are for habitat management at the marsh? I think it looks like more of the same from my observation. The marsh will be water and grass land with a boarder of trees on the ridges.
