Wednesday at McIntosh Woods, Ventura, Iowa, I found a small flock of
warblers which included 2 N. Waterthrush besides Wilson's, Redstart,
Magnolia, and Nashville. There was a flock of Ruby-crowned Kinglets with
the warblers. Around the lake there were large numbers of Franklin's Gulls
migrating south. There were four Eurasian Collared- Doves at Ventura.
Shorebirds in a drying up marsh south of the town had Amer. Golden Plover,
Killdeer, the Yellowlegs, Semi and Least Sandpiper with Baird's and
Pectoral, also. Unfortunately this is private land and that was all I could
see from the road.

I could not find warblers at Eagle Lake and little else was there. Out in
the country side large flocks of Cowbirds were migrating south. Pelicans
are still hanging out at Crystal Lake as are Cormorants but the marshes are
now devoid of any birds. No thrushes other than groups of Robins were seen.
