The Johnston gravel pits were the only spot I found in the Saylorville area
with much waterfowl activity. Among the winter waterfowl were 2 pair of
Redheads, 2 Ruddy ducks, one H. Merg, 11 Coot, and one H. Gull. A DC Cormorant
was below the dam.
I was also pleased to see our resident C. Wrens this am, having produced 2
broods this summer, they seem to have survived the storm.

I, too, have had a fox sparrow visiting my feeder area; this is the 3rd day of
this December delight.
