There was a Ross's Goose at Ada Hayden in Ames at 5:30 this afternoon. It
was with Canada geese in the northern pond in the wetlands west of the
main lake. It was easy to find because there were no Snow geese around.

There were a number of American Mergansers in the pond just south of that
one (or maybe the ponds are connected now). Other birds seen in a short
stay were mallards, ring-billed gulls, tree sparrows, a song sparrow,
redwings.
