Hi Birders,
This evening, 3/18, we went to Lake Manawa (Council Bluffs, IA) and
found it about 50% ice-free.
Birds seen:
Lesser Scaup - 6
Red-breasted Merganser - 5
Common Merganser - 20
Bald Eagle - 40 + (on the remaining ice and in trees around the lake)
Ring-billed Gull - estimated at about 2,000
Herring Gull - 4
