I went over to Don Williams Lake in Boone County again this morning. I took a few more Pelican photos. One bird showed an aluminum leg band as I looked at it on the computer. I think it is number C656. This seems a low number. Does this seem like a recent years FWS band or is there another project somewhere?
Here is a link that shows the bird in the first 2 photos of album. Second photo is an enlargement. View the photos with the slide show button in uppper right corner to see in large size. Maybe someone else can read the band better than I can. http://larryd.smugmug.com/gallery/11677061_LBGo4#826670039_AenBg There are still about 150-200 Pelicans there at Don WIlliams. Normal waterfowl at Harrier Marsh in Ogden. Saw 2 Northern Harriers there.
