I did some county listing in NW Iowa today.  It was a pretty slow (and  
long) day overall but I did have my first Swainson's Hawk of the year in rural  
Lyon Co.  It was hunting a field that was being plowed.  That seems  like a 
good way to find these hawks!  Keep your eyes open when you come  across 
fields being plowed.
 
Other than that, I had a couple of Greater Scaup on Storm Lake (Buena Vista 
 Co.), several Northern Harriers, and a late Harlan's Red-tailed Hawk along 
I-80  east of Anita in Cass Co.
