I spent today making a wide sweep across SW Iowa and tallied 90 species for the day. Lots of FOY birds and the following were my highlights:
22 species of waterfowl (inc. <10 Snow Geese and 3 Ross's Geese) 1 subadult NEOTROPIC CORMORANT at Pierce Creek Rec. Area, Page Co. single Loggerhead Shrikes in Fremont and Page Co.'s Red-breasted Nuthatches at 3 locales For BBA work I found a Great Horned Owl nest, several Red-tailed Hawk nests, a Great Blue Heron colony, a displaying Cooper's Hawk, and several used Baltimore Oriole nests.
