Hi all,
 The past day and a half  were spent in Southern Iowa, along and near hiway 2 
across the state. The birding was less than spectacular, but a few notables 
were:
Bewick's Wren at the junkyard near Argyle (Lee Co.)
Upland Sandpapipers alng hiway 2 ( Apanoose Co.)
Neotropic Cormorant at Piece Cr. Rec. Area in Page Co. (Cove at east end of 
dam) Also Harris' Sparrows there.
Numerous Yellow-headed Blackbirds and Great -Tailed Grackles at Forney Lake  
(Fremont Co.)
Greater Prairie Chicken (1) at Ringgold Co.Lek. (Only 1 in middle of the day in 
the rain)
Relatively few shorebirds anywhere, but at Dean Area of the Sedan bottoms in 
Appanoose Co. there were quite a few, with 3 plovers, including Piping Plover.
Yellow-thtroated warbler, Louisiana Waterthrush, Northern Parule, Blue-gray 
Gnatcatcher, and Henslow's Sparrows at Lacey-Keosauqua SP (Van Buren Co.)
