The Prairie Lakes Audubon chapter had a picnic lunch and field trip this evening at the Freda Haffner Kettlehole area in Dickinson county. As we ate sandwiches in the preserve parking lot at 6 PM, a Say's Phoebe was spotted and was working the fence line along the south side of 210th St. It was last seen along 210th St just west of the intersection with 190th Ave about 6:30 and had been working to the east from where it was originally seen.
A male Blue Grosbeak was also seen in the field and in the farm grove to the south and west of that same intersection. A driving loop of the area after the hike between 7:30 and 8 PM could not relocate the phoebe. I will check the area again on Saturday. Lee A.
