Yesterday I birded my way across NE Iowa in search of migrant passerines and 
tallied 108 species for the day without really trying. Here are the highlights:



Warbler totals:



3 Golden-winged

14 Tennessee

5 Nashville

1 Northern Parula

2 Yellow

14 Chestnut-sided

18 Magnolia

1 Black-throated Green

7 Blackburnian

12 Black-and-white

14 American Redstart

2 Northern Waterthrush

1 Mourning Warbler

2 Common Yellowthroat

8 Wilson's

2 Canada



Other birds:



1 Snow Goose near St. Lucas, Fayette Co.

A total of 6 Wild Turkey broods (to zero pheasants)

3 Sandhill Cranes n of Cardinal M.

1 juvenile Piping Plover at Wapsi River Access, Buchanan Co.

1 juvenile Red-necked Phalarope at Lylah's M.

1 Olive-sided Flycatcher at Backbone S.P.

2 Yellow-bellied and 2 Least Flycatchers (plus many unidentified empids)

1 Philadelphia Vireo at Lake Meyer, Winneshiek Co.
