I was in Des Moines yesterday and stopped by Saylorville in the wind Tuesday afternoon. The Western Grebe was still present, spending a lot of time under water. Along with all the American Coots, Ring-billed Gulls and Double-crested Cormorants were a Common Loon and a few each of Franklin's Gulls, Ruddy Ducks, Green-winged Teal and Northern Shovelers.
