I made a couple of quick stops at Saylorville on my way to Des Moines and saw single juvenile Black and White-winged scoters, 17 Common Loons, and 4 American Avocets. At home I was surprised to see a Field Sparrow in our yard, possibly the same individual last seen about 10 days ago.
