In the Clear Lake loon mix mentioned by Rita was one Pacific Loon in
about the middle of the lake, visible straight away from the downtown
seawall. Scope required.
About a mile south of Clear Lake, in a field currently undergoing
prairie restoration, a flock of 43 Smith's Longspurs flushed into the
air in front of me, the first I have been able to find this season.
Also in the field were Lapland Longspurs and pipits.
