I checked the Coralville Dam this morning and had the continuing American White
Pelican and Lesser Scaup and a female Hooded Merganser. The latter two both
looked rather cold. Canada Geese tallied in at 534.

I drove out to Amana Rd. afterwards and relocated the ("a"?) Northern
Mockingbird previously found by Jim Forde. It was located a bit further to the
east; east of the 1892 address along the wooded curve in the road there. Also
present was the calling White-crowned Sparrow but the Eurasian Tree Sparrows
were MIA. Do use caution looking in this area as the road conditions aren't the
best and there was significantly more traffic than I had expected there to be.
A renegade Chevy pickup disturbed the birding during the minimal time I was
present, so viewing was very brief, but both notable birds were actively
calling beforehand.

American Robins are still prevalent in Iowa City.
