I spent today birding several locales in south-central Iowa. It was a great day to be out and I tallied nearly 60 species including 15 sp. of waterfowl, 6 Long-eared Owls, 2 Northern Shrikes, many Eastern Bluebirds and American Robins, 1 Northern Mockingbird, 2 Yellow-rumped Warblers, 1 Fox Sparrow, good numbers of Harris's and White-crowned sparrows, and lots of Purple Finches.
