I briefly birded the Hallett pits and Raccoon River Park this afternoon. The numbers of waterfowl have increased dramatically over last weekend but the variety is still low. Birds seen include: American Black Duck- 3 Canvasback- 320+ Ring-necked Duck- 24 Greater Scaup- 3 Lesser Scaup- 460+ Common Goldeneye- 400+ Hooded Merganser- 19 Common Merganser- 600+ Red-breasted Merganser- 70+ Ruddy Duck- 3 Also, after being absent for several weeks now, I have 4 Pine Siskins coming to my feeders.
