Late this afternoon I watched 2 Peregrine Falcons cavorting over, and then landing side-by-side on the Black Hawk Bridge over the Mississippi River at Lansing, Allamakee Co. These are the first peregrines I've noticed on the bridge since November, and I watch the bridge from my favorite reading spot every day that I am home.

There was a very obvious size difference between the two peregrines, so I expect they are male and female. Hopefully they'll nest nearby again. In recent years, thanks to Bob Anderson and his assistants, the peregrines have been productive (and quite visible) near the power plant about 2-miles south of Lansing.

Also, visible from our window are two Bald Eagle nests on the Upper Miss. R. NWR, and both of these have had eagles on or near the nests over the past few weeks.
