In the north, things seem a little behind what people are reporting elsewhere. At Clear Lake, the only open water areas are the two holes kept open by aerators. So far I've counted only 15 species, and no big numbers yet. The geese present are almost all migrant Canadas (B.c. interior). On Thursday, 75 Greater White-fronted Geese stopped by, but there have been no white geese or Cackling Geese yet. Today, two Horned Grebes were the newest arrivals at the west hole.
