1 American Avocet, 1 Ross' Goose, 21 Sandhill Cranes, 200+ Bonaparte's Gulls, plus Lesser & Greater Yellowlegs, lots of Bald Eagles, and the regular puddle ducks and diving ducks..... all in the 11-miles between Lansing and New Albin in Allamakee Co. on Sunday. It was nice to see the Bony's far exceeding Ring-billed Gulls in number. Very high water in the Mississippi R. has pushed the cranes out of the floodplain, and 1 pair were photographed part way up one of the Driftless Area's steep slopes!

Sorry for late post. I spent all of yesterday monitoring activity at busy Bald Eagle nests.

Today yet another blizzard has dropped 3+ inches of wet, soggy snow; with up to 6 more inches expected. I'm ready for spring to show up and stay for awhile.

Happy birding!
