This evening I found something very neat in Fairmount Cemetery. 30-40 Tennessee
Warblers and about 10 Cape May Warblers (male and female) in a row of 6
conifers west of the maintenance building. I think they were firs. The warblers
were foraging continuously for the 45" I was there, jumping from tree to tree.
It looked like they were feeding on insects and sap or nectar or whatever its
called. I was as close as 25 feet to the warblers which were between ground
level and 30 feet at the tree tops. The sun was behind me so I got some
excellent looks. Also 1 Nashville and 1 Magnolia there. Elsewhere in the
cemetery, 8 Swainson's Thrush, 3 Cedar Waxwings (my FOY!), and 6 Common
Nighthawks. This morning I had a male Scarlet Tanager.
