Yesterday after the rain I took a short walk thru the woods behind our house and found 3 golden winged warblers and a summer tanager amongst the more common birds. Although from the reports so far it seems golden winged warblers and summer tanagers are also common. This morning along the bike trail north of sycamore access boat ramp we had a blackburnian, chestnut sided and redstarts as well as a white eyed vireo, numerous tennessee warblers and red eyed vireos. This evening another blackburnian showed up in the hickory tree next to our house. Interestingly, no ovenbirds yet. The leaves on the trees seem to be making up for lost time with this warm weather making for difficult warbler viewing. Dick and Sharon Stilwell W Des Moines
