Birders, Today was the first of 3 days I will be spending with Carroll 7th graders. We had a very successful day of banding, including a red-headed woodpecker, a few B. orioles, a few r.b. grosbeaks, and a Swainson's thrush.
I led a group on a short hike this evening and was treated to excellent looks at a BLACK-BILLED CUCKOO and WHITE-EYED VIREO in the same clump of shrubs.
