I missed the Warbler Walk this morning but started a loop of Hickory Hill as the group was leaving. Mark mentioned they had about a dozen ORCHARD ORIOLES up at the Conklin lot so I headed up that way to pick up my year bird. They had vanished by the time I got there but were back a half hour later when I looped through again, only one adult male in the bunch. The best warbler birding was by the Bloomington street lot along the creek and in the nearby flowering Oaks. CAPE MAY, BAY-BREASTED, and CANADA WARBLER were tops here. I watched the Canada for about 20 minutes, it was giving such great looks I felt like an idiot walking away from it. I also heard a brief snippet of a CONNECTICUT WARBLER song here but it never sang again so I didn't count it.
I later did a quick walk around Squire Point after 5, it was very quiet except for the flycatchers. Heard an ACADIAN FLYCATCHER singing around where the conifer grove starts, also watched three different YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHERS singing their upslurred "perwee" call (example : http://www.xeno-canto.org/sounds/uploaded/CDTGHVBGZP/YBFL2010-6-9calls1.mp3 ). There were also 3 PURPLE MARTINS gurgling overhead.
