Hi All,

At the Greenwood Park lake in Des Moines early this afternoon, I watched a
MISSISSIPPI KITE combat the wind for several minutes as it soared from
northwest to south past the lake. A pair of low soaring BROAD-WINGED HAWKS here
also surprised me (assuming they have a nest nearby, as I saw a single bird
moving just over the tree tops several times).

I checked for Western Kingbirds at the State Capitol Grounds but came up empty.
However, watching a young Peregrine Falcon on the east ledge of the building
for some time made up for the miss.
