Whereas the woods can seem rather barren of birds these days, while I was walking past a mulberry tree loaded with ripe fruit out in a old pasture at Lake Meyer this afternoon I was impressed with the bird activity in that isolated tree. The show included several Cedar Waxwings, American Robins, Gray Catbirds and Rose-breasted Grosbeaks. Also a pair of Baltimore Orioles and Brown Thrashers. A House Wren was also picking through the branches.
