I haven't seen any Western Sandpipers since 8/25 at Hawkeye
and I'm not seeing as many small peeps either. The waters at
Greencastle Ave. (the prime Western location) have receded so
much that the shorebirds are farther away, thus harder to identify.
And it won't be long before the west side is completely dry. 
Sand Point has never produced many Westerns for me and the
area is becoming more vegetated all the time. But there's still 
peep habitat around so maybe more will show up. It has been one
of the best seasons for Western Sandpipers so far.
