Lynn Marsh and I checked a couple of Saylorville spots this morning. No
luck with the Red Knots at Oak Grove. The two ponds south of the parking
lot did have 12 species of shorebirds, including 3 White-rumps, 8
Buff-breasteds, and my first Wilson's Snipe of the season. The water
level is up at Polk City WA, so hardly any shorebird habitat left. We got
to watch a Snapping Turtle devour a Mallard while we were there.
