This morning found a hummer lying under the feeder as if dead. Warmed it
in my hands and fed it a little sugar water after determining that it was
indeed alive. After it revived it flew away. Later noticed what I am
sure was the same bird on the feeder. Another flew down and attacked it,
knocking it off the feeder onto the ground. I again warmed it and put in
on the feeder. Immediately another hummer which I believe was the same
aggressor as before, flew down and tried to attack again. I was literally
swatting at the aggressor. At this point I put an additional feeder out.
Since then there have been two or more fighting all day. I have seen
hummers chase each other away from the feeder but never attack one another
so viciously!
