I just took the dogs out and down to the corner and back. It seems to be the start of a pretty good night for calling migrant birds, with stillness and a misty low ceiling. Picked up almost 40 calls in maybe 10 minutes- all Swainson's Thrushes except for 1 "zeet". Gonna have to head out for a while and leave my fantasy football players to fend for themselves.

An early evening run by Union Slough showed turnover similar to reports elsewhere- lots of shorebirds have gone (highlight 2 Black-bellied Plovers), but 64 Great Egrets by the headquarters, and lots of ducks (duh!) and corms/pelicans.
