Birders
Five people joined Mark Proescholdt at his Grammer Grove hawkwatch site today.
NNE winds brought us 291 birds over a 6-hour span (9AM-3PM).
Sharp-shinned Hawk   29
Cooper's Hawk    7
No. Harrier    2
Broad-winged Hawk   226
   (roughly 1/2 of Mark's total
    BWHA flight this season)
Red-tailed Hawk    9
Buteo sp.   2
Bald Eagle    9  (all adults)
Turkey Vulture    6
No falcons whatsoever.
 Mark has had 1 Miss. Kite and 1 Swainson's Hawk to date.
Good numbers of Blue Jays and Flickers, a few nighthawks, and
~160 Am. White Pelicans.  No Red-headed Woodpeckers today.

Mark conducts his counts on weekends and Wednesdays.
This is his 22nd year at this site.
