Birds had no choice but to sit down here with the winds of yesterday, so there were migrants in the park. It made me feel better about the fall migration. The path through the park was covered in leaves and twigs with an occasional branch down. At least three trees went down in the park as the winds wiped the trees on their way through N. Iowa.
Seen were: Winter Wrens: 5 Brown Creepers: 2 Ruby-crowned Kinglets: 12 Hermit Thrush: 9 Orange-crowned Warbler: 3 Nashville Warbler: 5 Yellow-rumped Warbler: 12 Juncos: 2 Manny White-throated Sparrows, one Phoebe, one Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, a Belted-Kingfisher, and a B. Eagle besides the local birds.
