Hi I-Birders,
Hope you've been out enjoying the beautiful autumn weather. Karen, Cooper
and I walked around Red Feather Prairie near the southeast shore of Saylorville
Reservoir this morning. It was fairly birdy there, and among 8 species of
sparrows were at least a dozen HARRIS'S SPARROW. Also notable were a few
EASTERN BLUEBIRDS, a SHARP-SHINNED HAWK and, curiously, a seemingly lonely PALM
WARBLER. In the yard this week visitors have included several HERMIT THRUSHES,
and Karen heard a RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET out back this morning. Off to see "The
Big Year" this afternoon.
Good Birding,
