The waterfowl mix at Clear Lake today was similar to what people are reporting at Saylorville. Over 100 Hooded Mergansers made a wonderful sight along the south shore. I found 5 Common Loons, 2 Horned Grebes, and there was 1 Red-necked Grebe in about the middle of the lake. Also many Red-breasted Mergansers, a few Ruddy Ducks still, and a handful of Bufflehead. The 2000 or so geese were split between Cackling and wild, interior Canadas. About 100 Bonaparte's Gulls were at Ventura, walking and sitting in the mud, waiting for someone with a better scope than mine to scan them for a Little jewel.
