Lena and I spent a few hours birding Red Rock today, and then visited 
Saylorville dam at dusk. Red Rock was >50% frozen. Here are the highlights:

Red Rock

13 sp. of waterfowl inc. a juv Long-tailed Duck off the marina
4 Common Loons
1 Horned Grebe
5 Thayer's Gulls (most off dam)
1 ad Lesser Black-backed Gull (dam)
6 Yellow-rumped Warblers (a single and a flock of 5)

Saylorville

6 Trumpeter Swans
1 juv Red-throated Loon and 1 juv Common Loon stranded in open holes as 
described by Aaron
1 juv Thayer's Gull
