Once again Mark Proescholdt  had a very successful hawkwatch in 2011 at
Grammer Grove in Marshall County along the Iowa river.  Total numbers were:

 

Turkey Vulture:  243

Osprey:  9

Miss. Kite: 1

Bald Eagle:  347

N. Harrier:  14

Sharp-shin:  297

Cooper's:  32

Red-shouldered:  5

Broad-winged:  650

Swainson's:  1

Red-tailed:  357

Rough-legged:  4

Golden Eagle:  5

Amer. Kestrel:  16

Merlin:  6

Peregrine Falcon:  4

 

Accipiter species:  1

Buteo species:  5

Unidentified raptor:  7

Total Raptors:  2004

 

This includes 210.5 hours on 52 days, starting on August 17 and ending
December 25.
