Yes, there are perks for being a member of the Iowa Ornithologists' Union!

The latest addition to the website is the ability for all you great member
photographers to share some of your fabulous photography with others. In
case you haven't explored yet, the official Iowa checklist allows the
selection of a species where one can find geographic distribution (from the
county checklists) and seasonal occurrence graphs (from seasonal field
reports). The last component, hot off the press, is a photo gallery for
each species that can be used to show different ages and sexes to help
people with identification. Adding some text on your photo may be helpful
in this regard. You should also add a copyright to your photo so that
proper acknowledgement is made. I have added a few samples to get us
started (see Northern Cardinal, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Red Crossbill, and
several owls). Specific instructions may be found on the upload page.

The upload feature is found in Member Services, available to members who
have logged in. If you find you do not have permissions and believe you
should, please use the contact form. Members who have their own galleries
to show are also invited to add their link from the Member Services page.

The IOU website is truly an interactive application for all members to
contribute towards and enjoy. It should be fun to watch the photos and
links build over the next several weeks. And for those who are not current
members, this is a great time to join or renew!
