Birders, I went to Waterworks Park over lunch today. The large pond is over 90% frozen solid, but a small hole in the ice contained 6 Mallards, 4 Hooded Mergansers, a Common Merganser, and a Ruddy Duck. Also observed in the vicinity of the waterfowl was a Pileated Woodpecker. At the crabapple trees near the Fleur Dr entrance to the park, I saw about 25 Cedar Waxwings, 20 American Robins, and a Merlin. Good birding, John Bissell Grimes --
