Hello Birders, The Snowy Owl in Monona County was in the exact same location that Paul Roisen mentioned in a previous email (south of the Whiting Exit on I-29). It sticks out like a sore thumb and is easy to spot, even when driving 70 mph....I got a photo of it which can be seen here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/backpackingbirdwatcher/6778076845/in/photostream/
I was on the way back from a successful search for the Common Crane in Nebraska when I saw the owl. For anyone interested, a photo of the crane can be found here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/backpackingbirdwatcher/6778103597/in/photostream Good Birding and God Bless, Tucker J.
