This morning, there are flocks of robins hanging out in the trees and lawn behind our house. Had a yellow rumped warbler in our tree just off the deck. More bluebirds. I think the birds think it is spring! Yesterday, I saw what I am quite sure is the rough legged hawk that has been hanging around for a few weeks. Also, saw two other hawks on the gravel road back to our place. One, I think is a Harlan's Redtail, and the other a dark morph redtail. If anyone wants to confirm, check out my photo stream on flickr. http://www.flickr.com/photos/74024107@N02/ The first three pictures are the bird I think is the dark morph and the next three are the Harlan's. The dark morph flew from the tree to the pole. All pictures taken close to 10 am. --- Please contribute your sightings to our list; it is only as good as members make it! --- Birding channel recommendation for FRS/GMRS radio use: Primary selection; channel 5/0 , alternate selection; channel 6/0 --- This mailing list is sponsored by the Iowa Ornithologists' Union.
