Hello Birders,
I have received a couple of interesting reports from Woodbury Co
birders lately. The first one was of an immature Snowy Owl in the vicinity
of 310th and Eastland Ave near Sloan on February 18. I was unable to
relocate that bird today.

Also, I received an email this afternoon that Bill Huser and Jerry von
Ehwegen saw 30-40 White-winged Crossbills in Graceland Cemetery in Sioux
City today. They were first seen over the weekend by Pam Pfautsch. Here is
the email:

Today at noon, Jerry VonEhwegen and I located 30-40 WW Crossbills foraging
in white spruce on the east side of the circle drive at the south end of
Graceland Cemetery in Sioux City.

Females, immature males and at least 1 mature male were present. Their
chattering/twittering is most helpful in locating the flock. Up to five
could be seen at one time watering from melt water on the entrance drive
from Lakeport Road. They were still present at 12:30.

Good Birding,

Tucker J. Lutter
